Are you tired of seeing basic buildings through the window when you’re having a Café in Skåne? Tired of going to another place that looks closer to a factory than a café? Ever dreamt of sipping your drink in a unique atmosphere?
We have tried out the perfect places for you in different parts of Skåne. So if you’re ready to upgrade your Café experience, dive into this article and find out what makes, in our eyes, these places so unique!
Röstånga Gästgivaregård (Röstånga) – Traveling to the past one sip at a time
Our first selection Röstånga Gästgivaregård is a traditional hotel, restaurant, and café situated right next to the national park Söderåsen. To be honest, we only went in because all the other cafés were closed and we still had to wait an hour for the bus after our hike. What a surprise when we walked through the door! We got transported through time in salons dating back to the 16th century.
Although the place seemed empty when we arrived, it is possible to enjoy a cup of tea or a Bryggkaffe (filter coffee) in this historical setting. This place is perfect for tired hikers looking for a unique experience off the beaten track!
Lilla Kafferosteriet (Malmö) – Quality coffee with authentic Swedish decor
Located right in Malmö’s busy city center, Lilla Kafferosteriet will leave a lasting impression on you. This café is situated in a 17th-century building and even though it’s often crowded, the great thing about this place is its high number of tables, indoors and outdoors.
But this café is not only cute, it also has pre-roasted coffee to suit all tastes. If you’re a coffee aficionado, you can even buy the precious beans to bring home. And it gets even better. This café’s selection of pastries is perfect for a sweet break. We have even heard that their Kanellbulla (Swedish cinnamon rolls) are the best in Malmö, and after trying them out, we can definitely agree. If you’re visiting Malmö, don’t forget to give it a try!
Bjerreds Saltsjöbad (Bjärred) – The sea is just a cup away
Getting to this café, sauna, and restaurant is well worth the effort. From the beach, you have to walk along a seemingly endless jetty, often battered by the wind (a friendly tip – if you have long hair, don’t forget your hair tie).
Once through the door, you’ll discover a space surrounded by large windows offering a splendid view of the sea – and Copenhagen on the horizon. Although the place is also a fancy restaurant, you can have a traditional Swedish fika with coffee and pastries. If you’re lucky enough to see the sun, their outdoor seating area can give a boost to your tan!
Konditori Citadellet (Landskrona) – Living the castle life while drinking coffee
The gentle splash of water, the sound of a duck in the distance, a red brick castle (which was also a prison at one time, but never mind…). The setting for Konditori Citadellet has every element of a fairytale. It is also a perfect spot to take a break after a walk around the castle.
It offers a great choice of delicious food, both sweet and savory. And if you’re a very undecided person, you can even choose between sitting inside or outside. We’ve tried the outdoor space and we made the most of every minute soaking up the sun. In short, a very nice café in an even nicer setting.
Bröd Kultur 2.0 (Helsinborg) – A country-style café in Skåne a few minutes from the city
Who would have thought that just a ten-minute bus ride from Helsingborg city centre you could find a bakery that makes you feel like you are out in the countryside?
Bröd Kultur 2.0 is an atypical venue that offers a perfect blend of the contemporary and the rustic, with its typically Swedish farmhouse exterior and its modern interior. It is the perfect stop if you want to have a coffee break, buy some homemade bread, or even have a brunch. We can definitely recommend this place if you want a quiet break, so far and yet so close to the hustle and bustle of the city.
Mölle Krukmakeri (Mölle) – An unusual café in Skåne combining art and nature
Mölle Krukmakeri is situated in the small town of Mölle, a starting point for hiking in the Kullaberg nature reserve. After a long hiking day, there is nothing better than stopping here for a nice cup of coffee.
The place is home to many treasures and activities. You can buy pottery, relax in the café, or listen to performers at one of the many music events. Definitely a hidden highlight in this small town!
And that’s the end of our selection of scenic places to have a Café in Skåne. Did you know any of them or did we manage to make your bucket list longer?
